Dates to Remember:
- Applications are due at least the day before election, Oct. 26, 2015. Please turn in your application to Konnor Fulk “A” in-person or via A@gsudeltachi.org, and forward to Peter Lane – ABT President.
- In the Chapter Meeting on Monday, October 19th at 7:00pm will also be a sign-up sheet for interviews. Please sign up for a time slot, and be sure to submit your application by the deadline. Interviews will be conducted Tuesday, October 20th - Sunday, October 25th by the appropriate Advisor on the Alumni Board of Trustees. Interviews will last approximately 15-30 minutes.
- Candidates should meet with the Incumbent Officer and must meet with the Advising ABT Member of the position(s) in which they are nominated, prior to elections.
- If selected to run, speeches to the Chapter will be at the Chapter Meeting on Monday, October 26th at 7:00pm. Please include in your speech the reasons that you feel that you are qualified for the position in which you’ve been nominated.
- The new Officers will be installed at the Chapter Meeting on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 7:00pm.
- The outgoing “A” will be responsible to work with the ABT to conduct a mandatory transition meeting for the existing and new Executive Board, at a time to be named later, early in 2016.
General Expectations of the Executive Board:
- Achieve a 2.70 cumulative GPA at the time of election.
- Be a student in good academic and conduct standing with Georgia Southern University.
- Be in good standing financially to the Georgia Southern Chapter of Delta Chi Fraternity.
- Attend the overnight Delta Chi Regional Leadership Conference, February 19-21, 2016 at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
- The “A” must be able to attend The “A”’s Academy by The Delta Chi Fraternity in St. Meinrad, Indiana (all expenses paid) on January 15-18, 2016.
- Read the Delta Chi BRIEF that applies to your position, prior to elections and to be discussed in your interview; responsible to review all Officer materials associated with your position as found at http://www.deltachi.org/resources/reference_material.php
- Attend retreat with the newly elected officers and the “BB”, at a time to be named later, during the Fall 2015 semester.
- Attend the weekly Chapter meetings (Day and time is set by the “A”).
- Attend the weekly Executive Board meetings (Day and time is set by the “B”).
- The “A” and “D” are expected to attend all meetings of the Alumni Board of Trustees, as these positions are automatic voting members of the ABT, to represent the Chapter’s thoughts and wishes.
- Meetings are held on the third Tuesday each month via conference call at 8:30-9:30pm.
- Three meetings are held in-person in Statesboro: Annual Blue/ White Spring Football Game (2nd weekend of April), Last full weekend of July (Annual Planning & Joint House Corp. Meeting), and Homecoming weekend (October/ November).
- All Officers must meet/ speak with their Advising ABT Member at-least twice monthly; preferably weekly, outside of the ABT Meetings.
- Be actively involved with Chapter Recruitment effort and Associate Member program, from your position on Executive Board.
- Assist where need with Chapter wide efforts including but not limited to Judicial Board, Philanthropy, Scholarship, Brotherhood, and Risk Management.
- It is not required, but it is recommended that you have served in a leadership role either within the Chapter, or in other similar organizations (student clubs, Boy Scouts, honor fraternities, etc.) prior to applying.
- Familiarize yourself and be a good steward of the Chapter By-Laws.
- Keep up an Officer Notebook with specifics related to our Chapter; tips, contacts, and idea suggestions to pass along, ensuring a smooth transition for the next officer.

“A” - President
The role of the “A” of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of leadership, management and external communication with the Fraternity, the University and other individuals. He is also a member of the Alumni Board of Trustees. This position is a one-year term. For a full officer description of the “A”, please refer to page 78 of the Cornerstone.
“B” - Vice President
The role of the "B" of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of committee oversight, chairing executive committee meetings, and internal communication among members and support alumni. This position is a one-year term. For a full officer description of the "B", please refer to page 79 of the Cornerstone.
“C” - Secretary
The role of the "C" of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of record keeping, communication, and documentation among members and between the chapter/colony and Delta Chi Headquarters. This position is a one-year term. For a full officer description of the "C", please refer to page 79 of the Cornerstone.
“D” - Treasurer
The role of the "D" of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of financial management, record keeping, collections, and documentation among members and between the chapter/colony and Delta Chi Headquarters. He is also a member of the Alumni Board of Trustees. This position is required by Delta Chi Law to be a one-year term. “E” – Alumni Secretary
The role of the "E" of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of alumni communication, alumni event planning and Quarterly submission to Delta Chi Headquarters. This position is required by Delta Chi Law to be a one-year term. For a full officer description of the "E", please refer to page 81 of the Cornerstone.
“F” – Risk Management Officer
The role of the "F" of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of parliamentarian, risk management, and typically the chairman of a chapter/colony judicial board. This position is a one-year term. For a full officer description of the "F", please refer to page 81 of the Cornerstone.
“G” – Chapter Relations Officer
This position is a Chapter-Specific, ad-hoc Executive Board position, not recognized as an International position by Delta Chi: The “G” shall be deemed the brother at large for purposes of interpretation of Robert’s Rules of Order or other such documents. The “G” will be the mediator between student members of the chapter and the executive committee. The “G” shall be responsible for identifying, mediating, and relaying issues within the chapter to the executive committee. The “G” shall hold an open forum not less than once a month to allow the student members to voice their opinions and concerns regarding the chapter and executive committee. The “G” shall follow all guidelines set down for him in these by-laws, Delta Chi Law, and other publications of the Delta Chi Fraternity.
“R” – Recruitment Officer
The role of the recruitment chairman of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of organization, event planning, coordination and management of potential member information, and serves as the chairman of a chapter/colony recruitment committee. This position is a one-year term, and is best elected as an assistant recruitment chairman the semester prior. This way he can learn on the job and consistency is encouraged. AMC – Associate Member Counselor
The role of the AMC of a Delta Chi chapter or colony is one of new member education, programming and supervision of the big brother program. This position is suggested to be for the duration of one new member program and is best elected prior to the upcoming recruitment period.
